Sounds like a Pouliot defensive blog.............(not talking position either ).

He needs more time to develop without the pressure of his draft position weighing on his shoulders. Let him go down in peace & get himself some confidence & form!

Edit: First suckers..........

I also agree that MAF looked sharp which was great to see. I also thought Scott Wilson was pretty strong on the puck.

I trust him more than DP. He should be the #7 while DP should be in WBS again.

I'm ready for cuts, too. Then other teams won't have to watch #51 flail around out there, submarining his trade value even more.

Pouliot sucks.

There's very little reason for Crosby/Malkin/Hornqvist/Hagelin to get time in the preseason. And Cullen is Cullen, he'll play if he wants to. Bonino they're probably being slow with coming off of playoff injury.

And I'm pretty sure the only guys on the Penguins roster with no NHL experience were Dea and Guentzel.

Finally and obviously, no one should watch preseason games with the expectation of world-class hockey. It's an evaluation tool. Poor teammates or not, poor competition or not, those who will likely succeed in the NHL tend to stand out in these kinds of situations. Like Guentzel this year, or Rust last year, Maatta a couple years ago.

I believe Letang, Daley, Maata, Dumo, Cole, Shultz. Pretty easy.

Figuring out the top 6 defensemen on this roster is no challenge. Seeing how the depth option shake it is far more intriguing.

DP has the pedigree, Warsofsky had a decent run last year, so you'd think they have an advantage. Bengtsson and Prow are intriguing though unproven youth. Olesky, Ruhwedel, Gaunce, Percy, and Erixon alll have call up experience. Should be an interesting battle for number 7 and really all the spots in WBS. Not sure if any of it can push a top 6 guy, but that's a lot of depth.

These games are only pointless because they aren't supporting RW's agenda, if Pouliot was tearing it up and posting great advanced numbers we would be getting blogs about how these games are great and they prove Pouliot should be in the top 4 on defense. I find it especially interesting after RW went out of his way to applaud the choose of pairing Pouliot with Daley where he would have the chance to excel.

I still can't decide whether these posts are just a long running joke that only you find funny or whether you actually believe the nonsense you post.

I was really holding out hope for DP, but that's quickly diminishing. He was super hyped prior to the pre-season. Looking like a "different player." So far, he's showing to be the same player.

I still think he's an NHL dman, but not a top-pairing dman like projected. I think it behooves to move him at this point since each day is the highest his value will be.

I remember Pouliot in his first camp. He was far better than he looked last night. He has played some decent games in the NHL. Unfortunately, he appears to be regressing. I'm starting to think he'll be back in WB and on the trade block. I'm not a fan of WarSOFsky, but It wouldn't surprise me if he's taken the 7th slot.

I honestly think Warsofsky is pretty decent. His game reminds me of Daley. I'm not saying he's going to be as good, but he just reminds me of him.

I think the Pens have better prospects though in Bengtsson and Prow.

I would like to see the Pens move Pouliot now for a decent offense prospect if possible.

I could see them making a deadline deal to add a seventh defenseman just like they did with Schultz this past year. Hopefully somebody emerges out of all the players they added though.

Maybe even a #5 guy actually. I like both Cole and Schultz in their roles, but I don't have the same confidence in either of them filling in as. 2nd pair guy in the playoffs like Lovejoy did.

He can't admit when he's wrong about something and his writing is so arrogant on his opinions he basically talks down to the reader. Thats why a lot dont even read his blogs anymore. But yeah lets trade Maata so DP can play!

Him and James Tanner rely solely on advanced stats and their own biased opinions.

Wilson is incredibly arrogant and speaks down to readers. He's far from an expert or any kind of authority in Hockey. I've tried messaging him on twitter and he's incredibly dismissive.

His bias for Pouliot is incredible. That's being said...

Saying the pre-season is useless for predictive value isn't completely wrong, but it's also not completely right. It's an arbitrary statement. Of course the pre-season can't be a 100% prediction of how players will fair in the regular season, but it's not completely devoid of what players are capable of.

How a player starts the regular season also isn't 100% predictive of how they will fair in the second half of the season or even the playoffs. You can keep this logic going and going...

The pre-season is very important to weed out the players who still need work, those who may be on the fringe and those who overwhelmingly deserve a shot.

The only thing about the pre-season that's not important is winning.

I only saw Prowe in the first Hawks game, but he looked pretty impressive. He probably won't challenge for a spot with the big club this year, but I think he'll surpass DP as the #1 D prospect.

I think Warsofsky will probably take the 7th spot while DP plays in the AHL.
